Who can participate? 
Any student (public, private & homeschool) entering 6th grade through 12th. 

How much does it cost?
The Idaho Interscholastic Cycling League fee is $135/student athlete, which pays for insurance, logistics & helps to produce coach training; the JHComp team fee is $150, which covers team logistics, equipment expenses & helps reimburse coach certifications.  Autumn race fees are $55 each race, or $150 for all five races. Racing isn’t mandatory, it’s just fun. If your student athlete does choose to race, which we highly recommend a team jersey is mandatory. A JHComp jersey starts at under $40 from Hyperthreds. If cost is prohibitive to your participation, there are a limited number of partial scholarships available from the IICL & JHComp- contact Team Director Andy Weenig for application details. 

If you're interested in volunteering as a coach, JHYMB will pay your coach fee for the season.  

When & where are the team rides?
In order to avoid athlete burnout & to simply ease young athletes into the season, there is one activity a week in June. The regular season begins on July 1st when there’ll be three team rides scheduled every week through the autumn race season which ends with the Idaho Sate Championship in mid-October. We’ll ride trails in Cache Creek Canyon, Teton Village & Game Creek on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30-7pm, and then some Teton Pass cross-country (xc) trails on Saturdays 9-11am. Occasionally we’ll ride xc trails at Grand Targhee Resort, which is an IICL sponsor.  

How much experience do I need?

None.  If this is your first time on a mountain bike, or if you've ridden for years, there is a place and program for all ability levels.  We will never put you in a situation over your head, but at the same time, we will encourage you to explore your boundaries.  

Can parents, siblings, friends ride with the team? 
Yes, you can ride as a non-coach with the team 1 time per season.  Please give us advanced notice if you intend to tag along on a practice session and we'll provide a waiver for you to sign
